Parent's Commendations

To who it may concern,

It has been 3 years since our daughter Fayth Ng joined Cherie Hearts @ Gombak. Time flies as we saw our daughter grow together with the school. Over the past years, we saw tremendous improvement in our daughter in terms of social skills and also the ability to communicate with friends and the teachers.

The curriculum to our opinion, was well tailored and it allows progressive improvement for the children. The patience and encouragement from the teachers was undoubtedly an important factor that attributed to the success in the upbringing of children from the school.

Looking at the various upgrading in terms of environment, quality of teaching staff and etc, we trust that the school management will continue to upgrade in all possible aspect to ensure continuity of quality education for the children.

Thank you Cherie Hearts Gombak!

From the parents of Fayth Ng, K1 Violet class

Dear Melody,

Our son Norman Tay has been with Cherie Hearts for more than a year, and we will like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Cherie Hearts Bukit Gombak.

It was evident from the first day since we visited the premise that professionalism and care are a shared attribute here.

From the on-going communication from the teacher-in-charge about our child development, to the range of activities undertaken during various occasions, the Centre has always managed to surprise me with the kind of activities or handiwork which were undertaken, with the cupcake "baked" by my son especially vivid in my memory. (I think he was around 18 - 24 months old then)

Besides it comprehensive curriculum, the Centre has a youthful core which is reflected in the management and the enthusiasm shown.

To sum it up, Cherie Hearts Bukit Gombak has redefined the way I look at the what a childcare can offer, and I hope the Centre can continue to keep up the good work so Norman and the other children can enjoy a memorable growing up years from infant care right through K2 at Cherie Hearts.

Noel & Esther.

Testimonial for Cherie Hearts @ Gombak Pte Ltd

This is our first experience with an infant care service, and it is has been seven months now. As first time parents, we were apprehensive about entrusting our baby to an infant care centre. We are concerned about her well-being at the centre as we are leaving her in the care of others.

However, Cherie Hearts @ Gombak Pte Ltd has convinced us that she is always in good hands. The centre and its wholesome environment has been a wonderful experience for her. We certainly find a great deal of comfort knowing that our child is loved and well cared for while we are at work. We feel that the staff (from management to teachers) are very professional and prompt in attending to any concerns or feedbacks. They have positive attitude towards teacher-parent co-operations, heeding our suggestions and offering their experienced opinions at times.

Our experience with Cherie Hearts @ Gombak Pte Ltd is definitely a positive one and we are looking forward to our child’s future development with the centre. We are pleased and are thankful to Melody, Ruth, Sihui and all the teachers for their great efforts and excellent service delivered.

TESTIMONIAL FOR CHERIE HEARTS @ GOMBAK

My son, Tan Shao Chyi Nigel, is currently enrolled in Playgroup II class at Cherie Hearts @ Gombak. He was enrolled in Apr 2009.

Since his enrolment to Cherie Hearts @ Gombak, we had observed that Nigel has grown to be independent, confident, and expressive; and displayed a keen sense to learning. I attribute Nigel’s progress to Cherie Hearts @ Gombak’s environment, teaching staff and the activities conducted at the centre.

The centre environment is fresh and clean; and has ample space for the children. The arrangement and decorations of the classroom is also done up to enable a conducive environment for learning.

The teaching staffs of the centre are friendly, helpful and caring towards the children. They had put the ‘human touch and face’ to the centre to create a warm and engaging soft touch.

From my observations, the centre’s activities are well thought through and well managed. The syllabuses were comprehensive and a suit of enrichment lessons complements the centre’s program and provide options for the children.

Overall, Cherie Hearts @ Gombak is a high quality child care centre with good facilities and conductive learning environment. The centre had given great confidence that I will be enrolling my daughter; Tan En Chyi Ashley aged 1.5yrs, with the centre starting from Jan 2011.

Cherie Hearts @Gombak is a place where Jennsen and Jayden will be well taken care of and a pleasant place for them to explore new things. They enjoyed going to school where they are welcome by a group of friendly teachers at the door steps with routine checks and cod liver oil. We are glad that the centre has a group of thoughtful and caring teachers where Jennsen and Jayden are nourished by their love, and care.

Dear Teachers and Staff at Cherie Hearts Gombak,

We would like to thank and congratulate you for a job well done! It is comforting and a joy to see our boys, Ivan and Ryan grow up in a safe and caring environment away from home. We feel that the teachers and staff have worked hard to provide holistic care for the children, paying great attention to all the important aspects of the childrens' wellbeing, from food, hygiene to the lessons and activities planned for them. We are assured that our boys are provided with nutritious meals, right down to the daily doses of cod liver oil! We applaud the consistent high standards of hygiene and appreciate the extra precautionary steps taken during any outbreaks of HFMD.

The teachers are dedicated, and we can tell that they enjoy working here through the smiles we receive whenever we drop off and pick up our boys. Every evening, our boys eagerly recount their day in school and very often sing the songs taught by their teachers. Our hearts melted the moment we saw Ryan perform the Chinese song and dance during the recent Year End Concert and we could tell that he truly enjoyed performing it! Ivan has also gained more confidence and has become more outspoken since we enrolled him in K1 in June last year. He is very fond of his class teachers and we are glad for the opportunity to try out student care for him come Primary 1 next year - we hope there will be sufficient demand for him to continue student care here for many years to come!

Last but not least, do keep up the good work of regularly posting pictures and videos on the website. We look forward each time to catch the latest updates and have already started a large collection of pictures for safe keeping :-)

Well done, Cherie Hearts Gombak - Keep up the good work!

Yours sincerely,
Audrey and Boon Wah, parents of Ivan and Ryan Kwan

Cherie Hearts@Gombak is perfect for my son, Jerrell Chng. It is almost a year since Jerrell enrolled in Cherie Hearts@Gombak. I'm impressed by his progress. I find him more confident, independent and very motivated to pick up a pen to write or a paintbrush to create "art". He has also learnt how to communicate with his teachers and classmates. The support from the teachers is outstanding. It is very assuring to know that Jerrell is in the good hands of dedicated and caring teachers like Feng Lao Shi, Teacher Wai Ling and Teacher Antonia. I would also like to commend Melody, Si Hui and Ruth for their warm approach with parents, and exceptional leadership and commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for my son. We will always support you. Thank you.

Cherie Hearts @ Gombak has been everything we wanted and expected. The school is committed to its Mission and Values. An excellent education centre, Cherie Hearts @ Gombak consciously promotes awareness and interest through its curriculum, philosophy and practice. Under its roof, our child gets all the supports, nurturing, challenges, encouragement and opportunities to explore new things in a safe environment. It also inpires my child to be a thoughtful community member, not just another student. We can count on the Directors, Principal and Teachers to challenge and nurture my child and to reinforce the values that she gets from us as parents.

Hi Melody,

I am grateful I made the right decision to send my son Tay Yong Hao Zivan to Cherie Hearts Gombak. He had made alot of improvements in his linguistic ability, musical rhythm and motor coordination.

I am also touched by how you and your teachers took the effort to know every child characteristics and behaviour, in order to help them learn.

I must also give special credit to Teacher Antonia, Chen Lao Shi, Lin Lao Shi, Teacher Humairah, Principal Sihui, Teacher Ruth and many others. They really give us good feedbacks on our son's progress and behaviour in school.

Thank you very much for the good experience. I will definitely put my 2nd child into Cherie Hearts, if he or she ever come along.

To All Staff of Cherie Hearts@Gombak,

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and words of appreciation to all staff of Cherie Hearts@Gombak.
Since their inception of the centre in Gombak, the child development experience in Gombak has taken a great turn towards one which is bright, conducive and assuring.

I enrolled my daughter in 2006 (aged 2) to CDC Gombak and was concerned after a couple of months.
My concerns were the syllabus and the conduct of the staff.
I was thinking of switching centre after my posting.
Towards the end of my posting, the team from Cherie Hearts took over.
During the transition, I sensed their display of enthusiasm and eagerness in wanting to transform the centre albeit it was a young team.

It was a gamble I took by staying on, and well, it has paid off, well and handsomely.

The centre has indeed transformed under the leadership of the young team.
Syllabus were reviewed and enrichment classes were structured to meet current demands.
The arrangement and design of the classrooms, the smart utilisation of spaces/corners and the cheerful decorations have made the place a real attraction for learning.
The fresh and clean feel whenever one enters the centre, coupled with greetings by the team of friendly and helpful teachers and staff do make the place warm and comfortable.
I envy the kids, really. They are able to learn, grow and develop in such a wonderful environment.

My daughter has graduated from her K2 this year, and will be transiting to her primary education.
With Cherie Hearts, she has grown to be confident, expressive and display a keen sense to learning.
She is able to tidy up her belongings, show care and respect towards others, and taking responsibility for her actions.

I would like to thank the team of teachers and staff for caring and grooming my daughter for the past years.
There was never a dull day for her ever since Cherie Hearts started in Gombak.
You have done a wonderful job and I wish you the very best always!

Thank you.

cheers
Andrew (dawn's daddy)

Testimonial 29 Nov 2010

When planning to move house, we decided to put our children at Cherie Hearts @ Gombak in Aug 2009, since I'm expected to work at MINDEF. So far, the experience for us especially the children have been a happy one.

Firstly, the environment is spacious, clean and conducive. It also gave the sense of security being within SAF camp. We notice that the management have also taken measures to ensure place is refreshing, i.e layout of class rooms and wall decorations are changed and updated regularly. Our children loves to run, and the extra spaces plus the save environment immediately outside the centre gives them ample fun times. The centre also made measures to mitigate the mosquito problem affecting the children. More could be done by the Camp to reduce the mosquito population.

We were also glad that all the teachers were dedicated and put the interest of the children at heart. Our youngest child at CH@G is YewSen (PG1). When he was enrolled he barely knew how to walk and have fallen a couple of times. But with the dedicated help from the teachers, he was able to walk confidently in a short time. He was put under special care (joined the infant group) and now he is running around. The teachers also took effort to understand our concerns on the children and provided attention to these concerns, be it the child's relation with other children or other behavior problems. In all, we felt that there were constant communications with the teachers and parents.

The academic program is also very structured yet not giving the children additional stress. We have observed our eldest son, YewBing (k2) improved his reading skills over the last few months. The best take away is not the skill, it is his developed interests in reading that is the key. The other success factor is the Chinese class activities. The teacher will design lessons that require children to communicate using Chinese with us for their class activities, ie , what to bring, what to make, etc. We were also pleasantly surprised to find our kids able to do maths problems not normally expected of them at their age. We found out that the teachers had taught them through games and interesting methods.

Lastly, the centre is also very understanding about parent's constraints. They will help to bring the children to the gate when requested. Occasionally, when our pick up runs late, the teachers took good care of the children and ensure that they are fed with snacks.

To sum it all up, putting our children at CH@G gave us peace of mind. Thank you CH@G.

Parents of Ang YewBing, YewShuen and YewSen.

Dear Melody,

Congratulations to the splendid performance put up by the children and staff of Cherie Hearts @ Gombak in the K2 Graduation cum Year-end Concert 2010. It was a roaring success. It was well organised and the children were well trained for this day. They simply know what to do. It is no simple feat to train so many children at such young age to perform on stage and at the same time enjoyed themselves. In fact, Charis and Conrad enjoyed so much that for the next 2 days, they kept asking to go back to the auditorium again.

The hard work put in by the teachers and staff was undeniable. Yet, the their faces radiated happiness and passion.

Once again, congratulations to your dreams come true.

Yours sincerely,
Goh Mili & Yeow Wei Chuan,

Hi Melody,

First, thanks for accepting the friendship. I guess this is the new generation way of letting Dawn keep in touch with her teachers (through facebook).

Secondly, myself and Jenan would like to congratulate yourself and the able team of teachers in bringing Cherie Hearts Gombak to new heights. Having seen how the center is transformed, we can't be anymore happier!

Thirdly... and lastly, having experienced the graduation concert yesterday, we can't help but feel proud for the team of teachers. Personally, I understand the difficulties and challenges of organising an event, let alone a concert! The sequence, flow and execution of the concert have displayed the careful thoughts, rounded considerations and surprising innovations and teamwork that the team has undertaken. For folks whom are not in the know, i think they will not believe that the team behind the event was a group of young, creative and able ladies! Good job, ladies! I can't speak for all the parents this time :), but myself, Jenan and my mum enjoyed it thoroughly. Do help share our words of congrats to your team please. :)

Would just like to add that Dawn has enjoyed herself thoroughly in Cherie Hearts Gombak. There wasn't a single day that she complained or whined about going to school. Come Sunday evening, she will get all excited in packing her bag, getting all ready for school the next day! Sadly, her time in Cherie Hearts is coming to an end soon as she progress into primary education. Well, she did complain a bit now... she has been asking me: "Dad, why can't Cherie Hearts Gombak teach primary one? Can you ask Teacher Melody please??"

cheers!
Andrew

Dear teachers,

The concert was well choreographed and rehearsed. We can see that a lot of thought and effort went into the planning all the way to the actual day. Most importantly, we can see the love that went into it. It was a memorable experience and great sending off for the graduating class. Kyan & Kyson enjoyed themselves and are proud of their performance. Bravo to all the teachers for an excellent job!

Cheriehearts

We enrolled our daughter, Jelena Wong Si Ying at Cheriehearts@Gombak CDC since Oct 2008 when she was 18 months old. Being the only child in the family, she was not very comfortable interacting with other kids and was not exposed to much activities at home.

We are thrilled by her progress since. She is more interactive, enjoys singing and dancing and is more communicative. Seeing her sing and teach us what she had learnt in school brings us much joy.

More importantly, we are impressed with the teaching methodology used in Cheriehearts which I think encourage creativity. At the same time, the emphasis on discipline and independence is a strong point. This include imbue in my daughter the need for her to carry her bag and not rely on the parents and the time out that the kids go through when they are naughty. I think these are good values and instil discipline in children.

We are also very impressed in the professionalism and dedication of the teachers in Cheriehearts. Antonio, Mo, Si Hui, Melody, Ruth and Caroline have done a good job and are always caring towards the children. They are patient yet firm in upholding their behaviour. We appreciate and are thankful for their efforts and good work.

Yours sincerely

It has been almost a year since Cherie Hearts SAF CDC took over the management of the Centre. I must say that at first my wife and I were a bit wary of the changes that would take place as my daughter Ashley has taken over a year to adapt to her “school” and the routine under the previous management. However, we are very glad to say that our fears were unfounded.

We found to our delight that the management and teachers at the Centre were very helpful and understood our concerns. They were very patient in taking care of Ashley, who can be a handful at times, but most important for me, my daughter took to the new teachers very well. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers in the Centre for being patient with Ashley and also in addressing all the queries and concerns that we have, promptly. We find that the teachers and management were very responsive and showed genuine care and concern for all the children in the Centre. We appreciate the constant communication between the teachers and parents.

We are also happy that under the management of Cherie Hearts SAF CDC, the lessons and curriculum were more structured and that the well being of the children were taken care of as well. One of the initiatives we appreciated was the conduct of enrichment classes at the Centre. It really saves us the time of sending our daughter for these classes and it allows us to have better quality time with her at the end of the day and also during weekends. My daughter looks forward to her enrichment classes, especially her speech and drama class, and would come home practicing her song and dance gleefully, much to our delight.

One of our main concerns initially was the diet of my daughter. As she is still young, we were worried that nutritionally she will suffer. Therefore we were pleasantly surprised that not only was the diet carefully planned according to the nutritional needs of growing children, she was also given fruits and cod liver oil daily. I must say that in this aspect, we are totally happy. It is no wonder that the Centre was also awarded the “Healthy Eating Award” from the Health Promotion Board.

After a year of observing our daughter, we noticed a significant improvement in Ashley - her knowledge, linguistic as well as her social interaction skills. We were delighted that every once in a while she surprises us with her understanding of things, her vocabulary and actions. We attribute this to Melody the Branch Director and the wonderful team of teachers that she has.

Lastly, sending Ashley to the Centre puts our mind at ease knowing that she will be well taken care of.

Kudos to Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak and keep up the good work.

Testimonial for Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak

My two children – Pang Hyin Ki (age: 6 years old) and Pang Hyin Han (age: 5 years old) have been enrolled at the SAF CDC at Gombak since Sep 06. In mid 08, Cherie Hearts took over the management of the CDC.

The management and teachers at Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak are dedicated to providing good childcare services and this is evident in their quality of care and teaching. Led by Ms Melody Wang and Ms Ruth Lin, the team at the CDC worked tirelessly in ensuring the smooth transition from the previous management to the Cherie Hearts management. Significant improvements in the childcare facilities were observed within a few months. The classrooms and common areas were re-decorated, shower facilities upgraded and workspaces reorganised to enhance the learning environment at the CDC.

In addition, the general hygiene management was improved with the establishment of the routine temperature measurements and visual body checks the moment the children enter the CDC every morning. More importantly, management and teachers in the CDC took efforts to improve the parent-teacher communication so that the parents can complement the school curriculum when nurturing their children at home. I was impressed by the attention the teachers pay to each child in our little conversations with them when we fetch the children to or from the CDC. In particular, it was heartwarming to receive SMSes enquiring about the well-being of my children when they were ill at home.

Both my husband and I are both very satisfied with the services provided at the Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak. My children have gained and learnt much from the committed management and staff at the CDC.

I am glad that I enrolled my 2 children into Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak. Though the centre is located right inside Bukit Panjang Camp and can be an inconvenience especially to people who don't drive, I am happy that it has managed to employ dedicated and friendly staff to run this branch. I can see that the teachers and staff are committed in teaching the children in the centre.

Though there are many Cherie Hearts branches around the island, I believe and have witnessed for myself that the staff and teachers in Gombak branch are friendlier. This enables and encourages the children to learn better if they see warm and friendly teachers. Of course, friendliness is not enough. Discipline and firmness must also play a role at times in guiding the children to be on the right path, and the teachers in Gombak branch are able to achieve that.

Though there are a number of Cherie Hearts centres located near my house, I will still continue to send my children to Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak as I believe that this is the branch that my children feel most comfortable and happiest.

Hi Melody,

Wonderful, friendly staff!! I'm assured that my children are in good hands. Thoroughly enjoyed school's activities, they were a good opportunity to see teacher-pupil interaction and for me more hands-on with my children helps me to bond with them. Thank you all care-givers and teachers for taking good care of Estelle and Cherelle.
